Changes since 0.1.0-beta.8. Fonts now ship inside the app, the asset library and importer recover from failures, and keyboard focus behaves everywhere.

  • Inter, Lora, and Courier Prime ship inside the app, so type renders the same offline and nothing is loaded from Google Fonts.
  • The asset library shows loading and download progress, offers Try Again when something fails, and clears its filters when a search comes up empty.
  • The social-post image picker lists only compatible PNG, JPEG, and WebP images, and PDF previews include a download link.
  • Save-point comparisons show readable text for emails, ad scripts, social posts, and structured documents instead of raw data.
  • Note checklists show completed tasks as checked in the outline, and long documents list every heading or scene instead of stopping at twelve.

  • Settings, Shortcuts, Import, the asset library, the command palette, and workspace search keep keyboard focus inside while open and return it when they close.
  • Discard Changes and Save & Continue show progress, block repeated clicks, and report failures without losing your writing.
  • Right-click Cut, Copy, Paste, and Select All act on your draft, work from the keyboard, and suggest the shortcut when clipboard access is blocked.
  • Find & Replace no longer covers the match it highlights, and closing it returns focus to your draft.
  • Images inserted while an edit is still committing are no longer dropped, and outline navigation reaches nested headings and list items.
  • Document import keeps its preview readable, shows the converted text in full, offers a retry, and strips the export header when re-importing Markdown that Stela exported.
  • The manuscript compiler can retry loading chapters, reports export and print-preview failures, and labels a single chapter correctly.
  • The command palette no longer lists outline destinations twice, and the shortcuts reference can reset its filters.
  • In the social-post composer, Undo and Redo are disabled when there is nothing to undo, platform tabs respond to arrow keys, and long previews scroll inside their panel.

  • Release file names with spaces are normalized before the update feed and checksums are built, so feed links always match the published downloads.
  • Local Windows signing receives the updater key path without a conflicting key setting.

  • Save and autosave coordination, revision checking, recovery behavior, and persistence of approved workspace access across restarts.
  • Windows installer helper paths, startup with an unconfigured updater, and macOS notarization with App Store Connect API keys.

Release safeguards

  • Stela Cloud is unavailable in this release. Local authoring, bring-your-own-key, and local MCP remain available, and cached Cloud records are retained.
  • Install preparation protects unsaved writing, unfinished comments, uploads, and active agent operations. A running MCP helper prompts for disconnect and retry.
  • Beta and stable pipelines verify both Windows and universal macOS before publishing, and production builds undergo credential scans.
